The Institute for Measurement Technology and Biomechanics at the Bundesfachschule für Orthopädie-Technik represents the interface between practice-oriented vocational training and academic research and teaching. The field of activity includes the transfer of innovative technologies to companies in the orthopaedic and rehabilitation technology sector, proof of quality in the provision of aids, development and implementation of didactic and methodological concepts, the structuring of knowledge and experience gained from the application of innovative technologies as well as their communication to specialists in the orthopaedic technology sector.

Focus on people with orthopaedic technical aids

In the laboratory, people with physical disabilities are cared for and provided with orthopaedic technical aids. The aids produced individually for the patients come from the fields of prosthetics, orthotics and rehabilitation technology (e.g. a wheelchair fitting). Kinetic and 3D kinematic motion analysis helps technicians develop and optimally adjust the restorations.
